Hansjörg Vollmer is a follower of the classic Bauhaus philosophy: form follows function. Ever since he turned the traditional brand into an internationally known manufacturer of high-quality mechanical watches, timepieces with the Aristo label have always shown at first glance which function they provide. Watches for divers, pilots, doctors, and motor sports aficionados are the specialty of Aristo Vollmer GmbH. Hansjörg Vollmer commented during the launch of his ART WATCH series in 2008, a design which actually turns the philosophy around: “We are the first modern watch manufacturer to take advantage of the features of the France Ebauche 233.68, developed more than 40 years ago, for our design.
