It is not without reason that many of the most striking precious
objects with gems and diamonds are created with this everlasting white
metal. Consequently, industry insiders agree that the rediscovery of
this multifaceted material about three decades ago resulted in
triggering substantial innovation within the complete jewelry industry.
inhorgenta europe – the leading trade fair for watches, clocks,
jewelry, precious stones, pearls and technology in the EU, was providing
a comprehensive overview into the versatility of this most precious of
all metals. The premium exhibitors of the genre were again exhibiting in
the "Platinum Forum". Among others, you were able to see the current collections
of Henrich & Denzel, Gebrüder Schaffrath and Hans D. Krieger
Fine Jewellery. Regardless of whether a classic and elegant language of
shapes or avant-garde and extravagant, the spectrum of the exhibited
jewelry was enormous in this year too. Numerous exhibitors were also
represented outside of the Platinum Forum, who were showing their
creative top works with platinum, including Buchwald, Niessing and
Meister.
The communication and information point in the center of the Platinum
Forum was the International Platinum Guild (PGI, Hall B1, booth 314).
With an informative program dealing with all aspects of the white
metal, the international marketing organization, to which many
entrepreneurs of the industry belong, has provided decisive
contributions in arranging the Platinum Forum. A highlight of the trade
fair exhibit was the jewelry exhibit, which many were eagerly
anticipating. The PGI was presenting selected platinum novelties and
current designs in 30 showcases from the strongly growing sector of
platinum wedding rings.
The platinum exhibitors were also very pleased about the comprehensive
range of platinum offers at the trade fair. "inhorgenta europe and
especially the Platinum Forum in Hall B1 are an ideal platform for us
to put platinum novelties in the limelight already at the beginning of
the year and obtain information about the latest trends," according to
Herbert Kleinbruckner, Managing Director of Henrich & Denzel. The
company from Radolfzell, Germany was exhibiting a new interpretation of
the wedding rings "Dualis" at inhorgenta europe 2008. Two rings are
created from a unity, where the link is visualized by the amazing
design variants.
Atelier Bunz, which has worked platinum for many years, was presenting
especially extravagant pieces. "In our current collection, we are
combining platinum with high-quality color gems and striking diamonds,"
Managing Director Georg Bunz explained. In addition to aesthetic
viewpoints, a handicraft aspect spoke in favor of this material
mixture. "Due to its unmatched durability and value, no material is
better than platinum for inlaying high-quality components." By the way,
the striking platinum creations were also created using modern laser
technology.
