| Event | Hall / Location | INHORGENTA DESIGN PODIUM In Hall C2, you
will find a diverse selection of colourful designs by 350 exhibitors from
around the world.
- Best of design: leading jewellery designers come together under one roof.
- Designers’ avenue: a selection of jewellery pieces are presented to an international panel at the design podium.
- Awards
ceremony for the innovation prizes: for the 11th time, four innovation
prizes will be awarded for outstanding jewellery design. An additional
prize is also awarded for silversmiths and platinum pieces. Design is a
key competitive factor which relies on human creativity and innovation.
The designers in Hall C2 will be showcasing their unique skill in
turning their ideas into a well-marketed product.

restaurant with a twist: expertly crafted silverwork to touch, try out and
enjoy. Not only can you choose from a selection of delicious dishes, but you
can also pick out the silver cutlery you wish to eat with. | Hall C2.128 | Special tableware exhibit We tempt you with our modern tableware sets, complete with top quality
silver cutlery and porcelain crockery. This project is supported by the

Sterckshof silver museum presents a selection of pieces from its comprehensive
collection of contemporary silverware, to which it adds one new piece every

| Lucca Preziosa contemporary jewellery The Arti Orafe, one of the most famous
jewellery schools in Italy,
presents this cultural project which includes a contemporary jewellery
competition.

| Hall C2 | Watch forum – Zeitgeist An insight into the production of
mechanical watches by renowned small-scale watch manufacturers and an overview
of the diversity of the modern watchmaking industry in Germany. This
year, the Pforzheim
school for goldsmiths and watchmakers and the Glashütte school for watchmakers
share a workbench to present their activities.
| Hall A1.402/503 | Highlights from the 150 year history of the “Deutsches Edelsteinmuseum”
[German national gemstone museum] in Idar-Oberstein The 150 year anniversary of one of Germany’s
oldest and most beautiful museums is celebrated with a special exhibit
featuring a selection of gemstone works from the last 150 years. The works,
which feature gemstones sculpted using every possible technique, showcase the
exceptional skill of gemstone engravers and outstanding goldsmith
craftsmanship.
| Hall C1.306/309 | Stone matters II: stone creations – stones with
significance Gemstones
are a central aspect of the teaching programme at the Idar-Oberstein and Lappeenranta design
colleges. The students at the two colleges see it as a challenge to find new
ways of interpreting these precious stones. The term “stone” is defined in the
broadest sense and the special exhibit “Stone matters II” demonstrates the
unique and invaluable qualities of gemstones within a creative design concept. www.fh-trier.de/fb/io
| Hall C1.326 | mineralART A “JASPER adventure” is the theme of the design
competition organised by the Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld bank in collaboration
with the district of Birkenfeld and the town of Idar-Oberstein. In a special exhibit,
gemstone designers from all areas showcase jewellery and other creations made
entirely from or based around jasper.

Milisenda, Idar-Oberstein (Germany) Contents: Today, new demands are
placed on gemstone laboratories. The answers to questions such as: "Is the
stone treated?”, “How has the stone been treated?”, and “Where did the stone
originate from?” all now form part of the gemstone certification procedure.
This talk explains just what is now possible with modern analytical procedures.
