Driving to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre / ICM
MMI

The New Munich Trade Fair Centre and the ICM are located directly on the A94 motorway and can be reached using the "Feldkirchen-West" (Exit No. 6) or "München-Riem" (Exit No. 5) exits. A dynamic traffic-guidance system regulates the flow of traffic, guiding logistics vehicles and trade-fair visitors to the nearest available parking area at the trade-fair center.

Low emission zone Munich: Emissions sticker required to drive in downtown Munich
MMI
Munich’s city zone has been designated as a low emission zone. All streets located inside the "Mittlerer Ring" are considered to be in the low emission zone, for which a sticker is required. The "Mittlerer Ring" itself is not in the low emission zone. A map of the low emission zone of Munich is available here.

Only vehicles with a yellow or green sticker are allowed to drive into the low emission zone. Vehicles with a red sticker are not allowed to drive into the centre of Munich.

The emissions stickers are obligatory for low emission zones in Germany also for foreigners!

The restriction applies to ALL vehicles from within Germany as well as from foreign countries. Vehicles without emissions stickers may not pass through the low emission zone otherwise a penalty of 40,00 € and a penalty point in Flensburg impend.

The emissions sticker can be ordered directly from the German TÜV or DEKRA or online:

Order for vehicles registered in foreign countries.

Order for vehicles registered in Germany.

Further information in several languages can be obtained from www.umwelt-plakette.de.

Ban on truck/lorry traffic in Munich
MMI
As part of the city of Munich's clean-air initiative, through traffic of trucks/lorries weighing more than 3.5 tons is no longer permitted in the city since February 1, 2008. The ban concept calls for through traffic of trucks/lorries to be diverted to the A99 motorway. As a rule, roadblocks directly at the city limits will not be used. Instead, traffic will be diverted or rerouted by warning signs in outlying areas, by prohibitive signs within the city limits (sign 253 of the German road-traffic regulations with the addition "Lieferverkehr frei" (delivery vehicles only)) and by detour signs indicating the way to the nearest motorway.

Effect on vehicles making deliveries to the trade-fair center:
The vehicle ban expressly permits delivery vehicles whose point of origin or destination is within Munich. As a result, deliveries to and from the Munich Trade Fair Centre are not affected by the vehicle ban. However, trucks/lorries whose destinations are outside of Munich may not take the A94 motorway toward Munich when leaving the trade-fair center because doing so would make them "through traffic".
